Halo Reach- What if: 11-5

       ~Kat

       Noble Six rubbed her eyes sleepily, trying hard to forget the horrible images. She didn't know why she was having the strange dreams...

       "Six? You alright?" Kat called from outside the door.

       Noble six looked up to see Kat peeking through the door conserningly. Six smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "Yeah. I'm just fine."

       "Really?" Kat said while walking into the room, "Because I thought I heard you silently calling for help."

       Six rubbed her eyes again. "I said I'm fine. It was just a bad dream."

       "Uh-huh..." Kat pulled the chair from beside the cot and sat down in front of Noble Six, an unbelieving expression on her face.

       "What?" Six asked, tilting her head a little.

       "Oh, nothing." she said sarcastically, "Just seems like the rest of the noble team really enjoys their company, but you'd say so otherwise."

       "Where are you going with this?"

       Kat leaned back in the chair. "All I'm asking is, do you have anyone in particular that you like in the team?"

       "Yeah? I like everybody."

       "No... I mean, LIKE like..."

       Noble six stared at her for a moment before figuring out what she was getting at. "Um... yes. In a matter of fact, I do."

       "Really?" Kat leaned back forwards, her face unreadable, "Would you mind telling me who it is?"

       Six' face went beat red. "No! I mean, It's private...er... personal! Why are you asking me this???"

       Kat leaned back in her chair and laughed. "Because, I like somebody as well and I'm trying to figure out if we likr the same person... well, sort of..."

       "Sort of?"

       Kat leaned forwards again. "Can I take a few guesses?"

       "Um... sure? If you tell me who you're thinking of immedeately afterwards."

       "Pinky promise." Kat thought of a question, "Okay... um... does their name have two syllables."

       "No." Six bluntly replied.

       "Kay... does this person have three letters in their name?"

       Six started shrinking back into her seat. "Um... yes?"

       Kat looked at her funny, causing Six to be slightly embarrassed. "Is it... me?"

       Six turned beat red again and looked down in shame. "Y-yes..."

       To Six' amazement, Kat leaned over and planted a kiss on her forehead.
       "Aw, Six..." Kat said, "If I'd known you were lesbian, I would have told you earlier."

       Six, with her eyes still wide, looked at her oddly. "Told me what?"

       Kat smiled at her. "The person that I like is you."

       At first it was just a hug... Then an exchange of little pecks... But then they just didn't care anymore... Kat kissed her and she kissed in return. Kat rubbed Six' back as the kissed, and Six ran her fingers through the cool metal of Kat's prosthetic arm. The kiss wasn't long due to the interruption of the voice in the speakers.

       Six looked at Kat with slight dissapointment in her eyes. Kat laughed and tustled her hair.
       "Well, you better get a move on." Kat told her, "It'd be rude to keep them waiting."

       Six nodded and gave her one last kiss before she quickly exited through the door, trying to conseal her embarrassment. As a funny matter, she failed to notice the rest of the noble team gawking at her as she made her way down the hall.
